Jane Valentine-Erwin, 89, of 108 Grace Village Drive, Winona Lake, died at 4:17 p.m. Nov. 27, 2007, at Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake.
She was born July 12, 1918, in Chicago, Ill., to Earl A. and Gail M. Swoverland Van Curen. She married Lowell "Rusty" Valentine, who died July 12, 1969. She married "Teak" Erwin, who died in March 1983.
She was a legal secretary for nine years at Brubaker and Rockhill Law Firm, Warsaw; executive secretary for Lake City Bank, retiring in 1979; and deputy clerk of Kosciusko County Circuit Court for eight years. She was a member of Church of God, Warsaw; Lambda Chi Omega Sorority, Upsilon Chapter chairman, Lambda Chi Omega Philanthropic Eye Glasses of Kosciusko County.
Surviving are two sons: Michael Valentine, Warsaw; Patrick Valentine, Columbus, Ga.; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services at Grace Village with a Lambda Chi Omega Sorority ritual, Winona Lake, with Pastor Jerry Yoder officiating, will be held at a later date. Calling hours are to be announced.
