Jane Ellen Demske, 63, of Pierceton, passed away at 1 p.m. Sept. 18, 2011, in her residence.
She was born Feb. 14, 1948, at Wolf Lake, to James K. and Inez L. Boggs Waugh. On Aug. 26, 1967, in Pierceton, she married James Mark “Jim” Demske, who preceded her in death.
She was a 1966 graduate of Columbia City Joint High School. She was a 27-year 4-H leader and was in the Golden April Home Economics Club. She formerly worked at Uniroyal, Whitko/Pierceton school cafeteria for 10 years and was a Whitko and Whitley County Consolidated School Corp. school bus driver. She owned and operated Jane’s Embroidery Shop.
Surviving are a son, Mark (and spouse Lisa) Demske, Claypool; three daughters: Kimberley (and spouse Marcus) McBroom, Leesburg; Michele (and spouse Jason) Eavey, Lafayette; and Kari (and spouse Greg) Gentry, Columbia City; two brothers, LeRoy (and spouse Nancy) Waugh and H. Kent “Nub” (and spouse Rita) Waugh, all of Columbia City; a sister, Judy (and spouse John) Johnson, Columbia City; a brother-in-law, Edward (and spouse Judy) Demske, Columbia City; seven grandchildren: Anthony (and spouse Heather), Justin, Cody, Ashley, Jessica, Colt and Jacob; a great-grandson, Mathias; and a friend, Keith Ott, Albion. She also was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Larry Schmoekel officiating. Burial will be in Scott-Keister Cemetery, Columbia City. The Demske family requests causal attire.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel.
