Janalyn Ramsey, 61, Pierceton, died at 9:15 a.m. Jan. 3, 2013, in her residence.
She was born Nov. 4, 1954, in Warsaw, to Richard and Janet Kelley Deafenbaugh. She married Fredrick Ramsey, who died April 1, 1983. On May 25, 1984, in Winona Lake, she married Burton A. Ramsey, who sur- vives in Pierceton.
A lifetime Kosciusko County resi-
dent, she was assistant director of nursing for 25 years at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw, then for the past five years at The Oaks, Columbia City. She graduated from Warsaw Community High School in 1973, then gradu- ated from St. Joseph School of Nursing, Fort Wayne. She loved baking, reading and spoiling her grandchil- dren.
Also surviving are a daughter, Michelle (and spouse Jeremy) Doerr, Warsaw; her mother, Janet Deafenbaugh, Winona Lake; three sisters, Luann Deafenbaugh and Terry Deafenbaugh, both of Winona Lake, and Linda (and spouse Rick) Shoemaker, Leesburg; and four granddaughters: Taylor and Jena Kammerer and Kerstin and Kendra Doerr. She was pre- ceded in death by her father, Richard Deafenbaugh, who died May 5, 2003.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Doug Lemon of Oak Grove Community Church, Warsaw. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
