Jan Carter, 62, Leesburg, passed away Jan. 1, 2015 at 9:55 a.m. in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was born Nov. 23, 1952 to F.D. “Mouse” and Mary Beth Light Leake. She married Theodore “Ted” Carter Oct. 1981 in Goshen, who survives. She was a lifetime Kosciusko County resident. She was formerly employed by Explorer Van as director of purchasing; Haimbaugh Inc., as vice president; Applied Team Technologies as president and co-owner, Proprietor of Leesburg Collectibles. She also was a former Leesburg Town Clerk. She was a member of the S.A.L. Auxiliary Post #49, Warsaw. Also surviving are a daughter, Lara (and spouse John) Ryan, Warsaw; two brothers, Kim (and spouse Linda) Leake, Sholow, AZ and Rodney Leake, Pierceton; three nephews, Derrick, Austin and Ethan; two nieces, Ameila and Shoshannah; three grand-nephews, Ian, Jayden and Milo; and a grand niece, Taliah. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor Mike Beasley officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
