SYRACUSE – Jan Appenzeller, 71, passed away July 4, 2015, in his home. He was born Sept. 14, 1943, in Fort Wayne, to Harry H. and Betty Harkless Appenzeller. On Aug. 18, 1985, he married Patricia Gawthrop, who survives in Syracuse. He attended Purdue University and was a United States Air Force veteran. He was co-owner of Appenzeller Brothers Auto Restoration. He had a passion for classic cars and wood boats. Also surviving are two daughters, Sarah (and Arnie Miller) Appenzeller-Lancaster, Leesburg, and Rebecca Fraisher, Arizona; two sisters, Diane (and spouse Eduardo) Vivanco, California, and Margaret Appenzeller, Syracuse; two brothers, Patrick (and spouse Janis) Appenzeller, Goshen, and Bill (and spouse Tammy) Appenzeller, Milford. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at All Saints Episcopal Church, Syracuse, with Father Larry Biller officiating.
