Jami Jo Wright

Posted
COLUMBIA CITY – Jami Jo Wright, 65, died peacefully at 2:24 a.m. at her rural Columbia City residence on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2019. She had been battling cancer.

She was born Aug. 21, 1954, in Winchester, a daughter of Jim and Shirley Small Wright. Her formative years were spent in the Randolph County area where she graduated from Monroe Central High School, Parker City, in 1972.

On June 7, 1980, she was united in marriage to Ted C. Wright of Columbia City. The couple resided first in Columbia City, then moving to Gas City, South Whitley and finally settling back in Columbia City for the past 28 years.

While living in South Whitley, Jami was the owner/manager of the South Whitley Laundromat, which she sold in 2001. From 2001 to present, she was the owner/manager of Warsaw Bowl.

Passionate about her work, the bowling alley was her home away from home. She enjoyed all aspects of running the business. When at home, she delighted spending time with the couple’s three Labrador retrievers, Karmel, Jasmin-Peaches and Redpop.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Ted; her mother, Shirley A. Small, of Parker City; a brother, Drew Wright, of Farmland; two sisters, Wendi Kauffman, of Parker City, and Mary Jean (Kevin) Walker, of Warsaw.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Wright.

A memorial gathering will take place at the Warsaw Bowl at a later date.
