NORTH WEBSTER – James W. “Jim” Schoeff, 68, Warsaw, passed away at 1:20 p.m. Sept. 15, 2015, in his residence. He was born Nov. 22, 1946, in Huntington, to Wallace E. and Betty L. Cowin Schoeff. On July 3, 1997, in Warsaw (Irish Lake), he married Kay D. Barney, who survives in Warsaw. He graduated in 1965 from Huntington High School and in 1969 from Monmouth College in Illinois with his education degree. He grew up in Huntington, and spent most of his adult life in the Chicago, Ill., area. He moved to Irish Lake eight years ago after spending most of his life coming to the lake on weekends and in the summer. He taught school for five years in McHenry, Ill., and then spent the next 33 years in the Mortgage Banking Industry. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, North Webster, and was a 38-year member of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 0995 in Westchester, Ill. Also surviving are: two daughters, Pamela (and spouse Jim) Pondel, Brookfield, Ill., and Jenna Schoeff, Portland, Ore.; a son, Matthew (and spouse Kelly) Schoeff, La Grange Park, Ill.; four grandchildren; his mother, Betty Schoeff, Huntington; a sister, Kathy (and spouse Mike) Hamm, Martinsville; and a brother, Donald (and spouse Ruth) Schoeff, Huntington. He was preceded in death by his father. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, 7822 E. Epworth Forest Road, North Webster, with Pastor Byron Kaiser of the church officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw. Calling is from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
