AKRON – James W. Casteel, 87, Akron, died at 6:30 a.m. March 25, 2014, in LifeCare Center of Rochester. He was born Dec. 8, 1926, in Shelton, Wash., to Ira and Lillie Desharme Casteel. On Dec. 21, 2002, in McCleary, Wash., he married Tina Johnson Kirby, who survives. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he served for nearly 20 years. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Akron Church of God with Pastor Terry Canfield officiating and military rites performed by the Fulton County Honor Guard.
