NORTH MANCHESTER — James Robert Spann, 39, Georgetown, Texas, died May 18, 2018, after a long battle with brain cancer.
Jim was born June 1, 1978, in Huntington, to David and Barbara Spann; his mother and stepfather, Barbara and Kim Wood, survive in North Manchester.
His wife of eight years, Zita Spann-Hernandez, also survives.
He served with the U.S. Navy more than 20 years.
A celebration of life service with military honors is planned at 11 a.m. June 23 at Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren, 71 North Third Street, Liberty Mills.
Jim will be buried at sea aboard the USS Boxer.
Arrangements are entrusted to McKee Mortuary, North Manchester.
