James R. Breske, 73, of 307 Sycamore Drive, Warsaw, died at 12:58 p.m. Aug. 27, 2007, at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne.

He was born May 18, 1935, in Waubay, S.D., to Theodore and Margaret Wenger Breske. On Feb. 10, 1979, in Elkhart, he married Ruth Burns, who survives.

He was a resident of Warsaw for 13 years. He drove truck for 50 years for ANR Freightlines, Fort Wayne, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1955 to 1957. He also was a member of American Legion Post 256, Pierceton, for more than 40 years.

Also surviving are four daughters: Debra A. Breske, Elkhart; Jane R. Galbraith, Bristol; Rebecca Pratt, Fort Wayne; and Jacquilin Breske, Warsaw; three sisters, Marilyn Baumgarn, Rosemary Hansen and Dorothy Derringer; two brothers, Donald and Terry Breske; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a daughter.

Services will be at 8:30 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 125 N. Harrison St., Warsaw. Burial will be private.

Calling is from 6 to 8:15 p.m. Friday at the church.

A memorial dinner will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the American Legion in Pierceton.

McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
