James M. 'Mike' Clark

GALVESTON, Ind. – James M. “Mike” Clark, 51, of Walton, went to be with his Heavenly Father in the early morning hours of Sept. 30, 2012.
He was born July 25, 1961, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Danny M. and Wanda Joyce Carew Clark. On Dec. 28, 1985, he married his high school sweetheart, Traca L. Roback, who  survives.
He worked for the Southeastern School Corp. as the Lewis Cass High School Director of Bands. He was a member of Upper Deer Creek Church, where he served as deacon, taught Sunday school and was a member of the Praise & Worship Team. He was an active member of Phi Beta Mu Professional Band Master’s Fraternity and was recently selected as 2013 Indiana Band Master of the Year. He also was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Also surviving are two daughters, Catherin F. Clark, and Sarah Jessica (and spouse Kitt) O’Brien; his parents; a sister, Joyce Ann (and spouse Chris) Adkins; three brothers, Mark E. (and spouse Patty) Clark, Patrick W. (and spouse Martha) Clark and W. Miles (and spouse Michelle) Clark; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Henry and Lillian Carew and Dan P. and Leila Clark.
A celebration of life service will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Lewis Cass High School auditorium, 6422 E. Ind.  218, Walton, with Pastor Joe Coffin officiating. A private committal service and burial will be at a later date  in Walton Cemetery.
Calling is from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the auditorium.
Murray-Weaver Funeral Home, Galveston, is in charge of arrangements.
