AKRON — James L. Sriver, 82, Akron, passed away at his home on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017.
Born on June 10, 1935, in Wabash County, he was the son of Estil and Anna Sriver.
Jim was a proud graduate of Akron High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked for White Metal Rolling and Stamping, Warsaw, for over 25 years and then Pike Lumber Co. for 17 years prior to retiring in 1997.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially taking care of his yard as well as others.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marga Flucke Sriver; son, James Jr., Akron; daughter, Michele (Fred) Bickel, Warsaw; sister, Mary Grant, Denver; grandsons: Nate Bickel, Louisville, Ky.; and Dustin and Daniel Sriver, both of Robbinsville, N.C.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Sriver; his parents, Estil and Anna Sriver; a brother, John Sriver; and a sister, Geneva Hamilton.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, with Pastor David Eaton officiating. Burial will be in Akron Cemetery, where military funeral honors ceremony will be performed.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
