James L. Sellers

James L. Sellers, 71, of Akron,  and formerly of Hoffman Lake, passed away at 1:25 p.m. July 1, 2013, in Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.
He was born July 2, 1941, in Warsaw, to James and Janice Shand Sellers.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1963-69 as a staff sergeant in the 701st Mountain Battalion 1st Infantry Division.
He worked for Pierceton Trucking, Laketon, for 20 years and G&S Trucking, Wabash, where he retired. After retiring, he worked for Steve Wagner Farms. He was a former volunteer of the Atwood Fire Department and a member of Kosciusko County Firemen’s Association.
Surviving are three children: Deborah Baker, Silver Lake; Tona Walter, South Whitley; and Rodney Sellers, Akron; two sisters, Patricia Craig, Warsaw, and Myrtle Leota Dennis, Roanoke; five grandchildren: Justin, Joshua, Janessa, Teri and Marc; and four great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Dillon, Jimmy and Delany. He was preceded in death by a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Howard Immel officiating. Burial will be in the Legion Circle at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military honors by members of American Legion Post 49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1196, Warsaw.
