KALAMAZOO, Mich. - James J. Benzenberg, 90, of Kalamazoo, Mich., and formerly of Estero, Fla., died Feb. 22, 2008, in Rose Arbor Hospice Residence.
He was born July 11, 1917, in Kalamazoo, to John and Maude VanderWeele Benzenberg. On June 5, 1939, he married Irene H. Smith, who survives.
He formerly worked at Orthopedic Equip. Co., Warsaw, retiring in 1985.
Also surviving are three children; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother.
A memorial service will be at noon Tuesday at The Fountains at Bronson Place, Kalamazoo, with the Rev. John Smith officiating. Burial will be private in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Kalamazoo.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Kalamazoo.
