SYRACUSE - James H.E. Heckaman, 59, of Syracuse, died Feb. 10, 2011, in his residence.
He was born Aug. 2, 1951, in Bremen, to Howard and Jennie Gall Heckaman. His wife, Judy Sims, survives.
He retired from the U.S. Army in 1995, after 22 years of service. He served in Vietnam and traveled extensively throughout his career. He was a member of North Webster American Legion.
Also surviving are two sons, John and James Heckaman, both of Syracuse.
A private burial will be Monday in Milford Cemetery with full military honors.
Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
