James Edward Reeve

James Edward Reeve, 93, died at 10:25 a.m. Sept. 27, 2011, in Miller’s Merry Manor, 1630 S. County Farm Road, Warsaw, where he resided.

He was born July 8, 1918, in Hobart, to Charles William and Minnie Theide Reeve. On Dec. 3, 1946, he married Kathryn Naomi Colvin, who died April 18, 2009.

A resident of Kosciusko County for the past 51 years, he was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II, honorably discharged in 1950. He was a member of American Legion Post 49, Veterans of Foreign Wars 1126, Lake City Lions Club and Warsaw Moose Lodge 1423.

He will be lovingly remembered by his two sons, James (and spouse Sheri) Reeve, Pierceton, and Dennis (and spouse Shelly) Reeve, Warsaw; a daughter,  Darlene (and spouse Jerry) DeTurk, Warsaw; five grandchildren: Michael Reeve, Statesville, N.C.; Scott Reeve, Houston, Texas; Brian (and spouse Melanie) Reeve, Garner, N.C.; Jennifer (and spouse Bill) Lehman, Warsaw; and Matthew (and spouse Stephanie) Reeve, Fishers; four great-grandchildren; and a half brother, David (and spouse Barbara) Reeve, Crystal Lake, Ill. He also was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, with Pastor David Hummel officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military rites by members of the Indiana ARNG Honor Guard and American Legion Post 49 and VFW 1126, both in Warsaw.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
