James E. Keirn, 75, of Mentone, passed away at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020, at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw.
He was born on May 23, 1945, to Hubert and Adda Reed Keirn.
He graduated from Mentone High School in 1963 and was married on Aug. 31, 1984, in Erlanger, Ky., to Linda C. Pyles, who survives. He was a farmer and the owner/operator of Keirn Excavating in Mentone for 25 years.
He was a member of the Harrison Center Church in Etna Green and a lifetime Mentone area resident. He was a loving husband and grandfather who loved to tractor pull, hunt and fish.
He is survived by wife, Linda Keirn, of Mentone; son, Jamie D. (Amy) Wallace, of Mentone; daughter, Jennifer Robinson, of Nicholasville, Ky.; three granddaughters: Christina Robinson, of Corbin, Ky.; Carolann Wallace, of Mentone; and Tori (Dennis) Samardzic, of Fort Wayne; two grandsons: Norman Wallace, of Kokomo; and Jamie A. Wallace, of Mentone; great-granddaughter, Ajla Samardzic; two sisters: Becky (Larry) Montel, of Beaver Dam; and Nancy (Dennis) Dodge, of Las Cruces, N.M.; brother, Rex (Trenda) Keirn, of North Manchester; and stepmother, Alice Keirn, of Warsaw.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack Keirn; and two brothers-in-law: John and David Pyles.
Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. Ind. 15, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
