NORTH WEBSTER – James D. "Jim" Felts, 77, of Leesburg, passed away at 4:05 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2020, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was born on Feb. 10, 1943, in Goshen, to Kenneth and Virginia Popenfoose Felts.
He was a lifetime Syracuse/Leesburg area resident, graduated in 1962 from Syracuse High School and was a United States Navy veteran.
He was married on Nov. 10, 1977, in Nappanee, to Jeri L. Holtzinger King, who survives. He formerly worked at Goshen Rubber for 30 years, was the treasurer for the Goshen Rubber Credit Union and he was the former co-owner of The Post in Pierceton for 20 years.
He was a member of the American Legion in Warsaw and formerly attended the United Methodist Church in Leesburg.
He is survived by wife, Jeri Felts, of Leesburg; two daughters: Christie King, of Pierceton; and Jamie (Scott) White, of Plymouth; two sons: Dan King, of Warsaw; and William (Sharon Boren) King, of North Webster; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Becky Lee, of Syracuse; and special friends, Charlotte and Bob Terhaar.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Douglas Felts; and an infant daughter.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. Ind. 15, Warsaw. Private family services will take place at a later date. Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster, is in charge of arrangements.
