James ConleyJames Roger Conley, of Warsaw, went peacefully to his heavenly home on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 7:25 a.m.
Born Dec. 8, 1938, in Carey, Ohio, he was one of 16 children born to Lana Frances May Conley and Bertie Conley.
He attended Pierceton High School, served in the Armed Services, was an over-the-road truck driver and worked at various factories in Warsaw. Roger will most definitely be remembered for his love of our Savior, his children and grandchildren and enjoying family time. He attended Warsaw Family Worship Center. He enjoyed witnessing, puttering around in his garage, helping neighbors and acting silly. Roger was a companion, father, grandfather and brother and will be dearly missed.
He will be lovingly remembered by his companion of 12 years, Patricia Buskirk; one son, James Conley; daughters: Kandy Columbia Hast and Darlene Eherenman, all of Warsaw; and Arlene Engstrand Nickless, St. John, Mich.; 18 grandchildren, and 40 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind brothers: Robert “Bob,” John, Ruben Conley, of Warsaw; Dan Conley, of Fort Wayne; Mark Conley, Phoenix City, Ala.; and sisters: Vernita Cunningham, Dayton, Ohio; Joan Potter, Maple Falls, Wash.; Deb Conley, Mishawaka. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Ernie, Herman, Ronald, Woodford and Bobby Conley; his sisters: Geraldine Bodas, Wilma Jane Conley; and granddaughter, Gail Nickless.
Roger generously donated his body to the Anatomical Education Program at Indiana University School of Medicine. This gift contributes significantly to the advancement of health science education in the state of Indiana. Those who decide to bequeath their bodies to the health sciences will make a significant contribution that benefits the quality of life and care for the living.
There will be a memorial service and Celebration of Life at Warsaw Family Worship Center on May 14 from 3 to 6 p.m.
