ROCHESTER – James C. Ramsey, 78, of 1394 S. CR 575E, Rochester, died at 3:50 p.m. June 12, 2011, in his residence. He was born March 8, 1933, in Miami County, to Verlin A. and Mabelle Ruth Hartzler Ramsey. He was a lifetime resident of the Akron and Gilead communities. Surviving are his companion, Mary K. Hopkins, Rochester; four daughters: Ardella (and spouse Charles) Slavens, Chalmers; Carolyn (and spouse Gary) Gray and Connie Joann Rutherford, all of Rochester; and Kathryn “Katie” (and spouse Kenny) Campbell, Akron; three sons, Donald (and spouse Beth) Ramsey, Rochester; Bill (and spouse Sherrie) Ramsey, Akron; and Jimmy (and spouse Dawn) Ramsey, Bronson, Mich.; two brothers, John Ramsey and Charles “Chuck” Ramsey, both of Akron; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, a granddaughter and a sister. Services will be private.
