James C. Munson was called home by his Savior from his rural Warsaw home on Feb. 6, 2018. He was 74 years old.
James was born Aug. 10, 1943, in Warsaw, to Charles A. and Mable L. Holderman Munson. He spent his life in the local area and had attended the former Jefferson High School.
On April 23, 1965, James was united in marriage to Carol R. Boyer in the United Pentecostal Church of Warsaw. Together the two would share 36 years before her unexpected passing in February 2002.
Although James had worked as a polisher for Zimmer, he farmed throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed fishing when he could. He was a strong, hardworking provider who dedicated himself to his family and his Christian faith.
A list of those left with memories to treasure includes his five children: Melissa (Ken) Koneval, Fort Wayne; Cynthia (Neil) Schulman, Plantation, Fla.; Michelle (Kurt) Harris, Warsaw; Stefanie (David) Freeman, Plymouth; and James Munson II, Warsaw; and 13 grandchildren: Kami and Kyle Koneval; Katie, Kara and Erica Schulman; Zachary, Kourtney and Baylee Harris; Spencer Smith; and Izabelle, Dalton, Darla and Destiny Freeman. Also surviving are his brother, Norman (Betty) Munson, Fort Wayne; and sister, Charlene Stidham, Noblesville.
In addition to his loving wife, Carol, James was preceded in passing by his sister, Betty Pfeiffer.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw.
A funeral that celebrates James’ life will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, with an additional hour of visitation beforehand, at Calvary Tabernacle, 1300 Wooster Road, Winona Lake. Pastor Rich Maron will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
