James C. Edwards, 71, of Claypool, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 7 p.m. June 13, 2012, in his residence.

He was born June 6, 1941, in Pound, Va., to Toye and Bell Hashman Edwards.

Living in Kosciusko County for the past 50 years, he resided in Leesburg and Claypool. He was a member of Eagles Lodge and Veterans of Foreign Warsaw Post 1126, both in Warsaw. In 1981, he retired from Uniroyal, Warsaw, as a machine operator. He served our country in the U.S. Army from 1959-61.

Surviving are a son, Tom Edwards, Claypool; a daughter, Sherri Wright, Claypool; two sisters, Phillys Lakey, Leesburg, and Zora (and spouse Terry) Massing,   Spartansburg, S.C.; four grandchildren: Shanna and Shane Wright, both of Warsaw; Tiffany (and spouse Tyler) Deardorff, Vacaville, Calif.; and Travis Edwards,   Claypool; and three great-grandchildren, Kenadi and Zecharias Wright and De’ Shun Hayes. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with Chaplain Doug West officiating.
