James “Jim” A. Brewer, 59, LaGrange, and formerly of Warsaw, passed away at 7 p.m. Aug. 14, 2016, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. He was born July 3, 1957, in Paintsville, Ky., to James Garth Brewer and Valeria Arms Brewer. On March 12, 1994, he married Nancy Dickens Grider Brewer, who survives in LaGrange. He was a self-employed carpenter and an ex-Marine. He will be remembered as a devoted husband and loving brother… he will be missed by many. Surviving are two sons, James Brewer Jr., Warsaw and Gerald Grider, Indianapolis; four daughters: Tracey (and spouse Darrin) Johnson and Melisa (and spouse Harrison) Gibson, all of Warsaw; Sonya (hand spouse Carlos) Rodriguez and Judy (and spouse Fernando) Grider, all of Kendallville; 12 grandchildren: Tabitha Kellogg, Anna Rodriguez, Mathew Rodriquez, Brooke Grider, Austin Grider, Kamden Grider, Victoria Fields, Alexander Nava, Amanda Ditton, Brandon Ditton, Shyanne Ballard, and Brandon Ballard; five great-grandchildren: Brayden Salisbury, Elena Ballard, Alyanah Rodriguez, Airabella Rodriguez, and Kaiden Rodriguez; one brother, Michael McCarty, Paintsville, Ky; six sisters: Janetta Fairchild, Winona Lake, Deborah Fitzpatrick, Painstsville, Ky., Dinah (and spouse Kenneth) Goble Tippecanoe, Karen (and spouse Edward) Ping, Berea, Ky., Patricia (and spouse Douglas) Marsillett, and Teresa Hall, both of Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Kelly Newsome officiating. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. There will be two hours of calling prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.
