PIERCETON – Jack R. Borton, 63, of 206 S. 5th St., Pierceton, died at 3:55 a.m. May 29, 2011, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born June 28, 1947, in Linton, to Francis and Alberta Dayhuff Borton. On Dec. 24, 1969, in Bremen, he married Pauline Alvey, who survives. He has lived in Pierceton since 1980. He owned Borton Carpet Cleaning for many years and worked at Dana Corp. for 12 years. He was a member of Pierceton Lions Club and Sons of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, Notre Dame sports and going to auctions and garage sales. He loved to “wheel and deal.” Surviving are his children: Leslie (and spouse Edee) Howell, Chicago, Ill.; Leo (and spouse Judy) Howell, Sarasota, Fla.; James (and spouse Cathy) Howell, College Station, Texas; Suzanne (and spouse Dennis) Kraus, Nappanee; Chris Berger, Pierceton; Mark (and spouse Cheryl) Berger, Plymouth; Tammy Riddle, Osceola; and Lori Dale, Lakeville; a twin sister, Jill Pardue, Sullivan; two sisters, Debbie (and spouse Jim) Ashcraft, Wiggins, Miss., and Rachel (and spouse Mark) Craig, Bloomfield; many grandchildren and great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, with Pastor Terry Bradford and Father Lenard Alvey officiating.
