SYRACUSE - Jack A. Peterson, 64, of Syracuse, died at 4:55 p.m. Dec. 15, 2010, in Goshen General Hospital.
He was born July 8, 1946, in Decatur, to Ralph Carroll and Lucinda Borne Peterson. On Dec. 23, 1967, in Anderson, he married Cynthia L. "Cindy" Thornburg, who survives.
He graduated from Goshen High School in 1965, and attended Ball State University, Muncie. He moved to the Syracuse area from Gas City in 1969. He retired in 2001 from Northern Indiana Service Corporation after 35 years of service as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Wawasee Lakeside Chapel, Syracuse.
Also surviving are a daughter, Janay (and spouse James) Hackleman, Syracuse; a son, Chris (and spouse Lisa) Peterson, Syracuse; four grandchildren, Lukas, Jack, Mackenzie and Colin; and two sisters, Sandy (and spouse Roland) Eby, Wakarusa, and Linda Orr, Peru. He was preceded in death by a brother.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, with the Rev. Harlan Steffen officiating. Burial will be in McClintic Cemetery, Syracuse.
Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
