J. Spence Shellabarger, 70, of Raleigh, N.C., died March 11, 2013, in his home. He was born in Savannah, Ga., to John Joseph and Marian I. Moeller Shellabarger. His wife of 46 years, Susan Jackson Shellabarger, survives. Also surviving are two sons, John Joseph Shellabarger, Roanoke, Va., and Douglas Spencer (and spouse Jenny Renn Pendry) Shellabarger; and a granddaughter, Sadie Renn Shellabarger, High Point, N.C.; his mother, Marian Shellabarger, formerly of Warsaw; a sister, Carole L. (and spouse Randy) Lowe, Phoenix, Ariz.; and a brother-in-law, Robert Lowe, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his father, J. Joseph Shellabarger. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Christ Covenant Church, 6501 Fox Road, Raleigh, N.C. Burial will be at a later date in Warsaw. ***** Memorials may be made to Christ Covenant Church, Raleigh, N.C.
