J. Spence Shellabarger, 69, formerly of Warsaw, passed away peacefully March 11, 2013, in his residence in Wake Forrest, NC. He was born in Savannah, Ga., to John Joseph and Marian Isabel Shellabarger. His wife of 46 years, Susan Jackson Shellabarger, survives. Also surviving are two sons, John Joseph Shellabarger, Roanoke, Va., and Douglas Spencer (and spouse Jenny Renn Pendry) Shellabarger, High Point, N.C.; and granddaughter, Sadie Renn Shellabarger, High Point; his mother, Marian Shellabarger, Apache Junction, Ariz.; a sister, Carole (and spouse Randy) Lowe, Gold Canyon, Ariz.; and brother-in-law Jim (and spouse Jan) Jackson, Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his father. A memorial service was Saturday at Christ Covenant Church, 6501 Fox Road, Raleigh, N.C.
