PIERCETON - Hank's Tattoo and Body Piercing is making sure no child goes without a Christmas this year.
That is why the business at 1048 S. CR 325E, Pierceton, is holding its fifth annual "Toys For Tatts." The business is along U.S. 30 across from Tractor Supply Co.
Hank's is now collecting toys for boys and girls ages infants to teenagers who otherwise would not receive gifts. The items are being collected until Dec. 23 when Santa will give the toys collected by the community to the children during a Christmas dinner.
There currently are three families who will receive toys this year who have been recommended by business customers, according to Hank Hernandez, Hank's Tattoo and Body Piercing owner.
There were six families who received toys last year, and one of the families had six children.
"Those who have tattoos sometimes are not accepted, but I know I gained the talent of tattooing by the grace of God, and hopefully by someone receiving a tattoo and collecting food, it can soften a hardship for those in need," Hernandez said.
New toys can be dropped off at Hank's Mondays through Thursdays from noon to 8 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 10 p.m.
Suggested items include new skateboards, bicycles, dolls and oven bake sets.
Those who bring a gift valued up to $50, the value of the gift will be doubled and taken off the price of a tattoo.
Those who bring in a bag of canned food for the families from now until Dec. 23 will receive a free body piercing.
The business also is offering a holiday season gift certificate now through Dec. 23 where people can purchase a $100 gift certificate for $75.
The children who receive gifts and canned food also will receive a gift certificate from Pizza Hut.
