Just finished reading your very fine article (News Views - Sour Grapes) and I certainly agreed with about all of it. My only concern was near the end when you wrote about receiving several "snotty e-mails" and a letter objecting to the write up of the Plumlees.
I am afraid some of the readers might believe that I wrote one of the objecting letters. You know very well that I didn't write anything. On the contrary, I am very much for the Plumlees playing good ball for Duke, and I have watched all their games and cheered for them, and will continue to do so.
I admit three years ago I questioned their leaving Warsaw and wrote letters trying to get the parents to change their minds. I knew that if they stayed Warsaw would probably win one or two state championships or at least be top contenders. Unfortunately, my pleas did no good.
I still contest they would have received the same attention no matter where they played in high school. I don't know why the boys or their parents didn't like Coach Ogle, but I suppose they had their reasons.
Anyway, believe me when I say I am rooting for them to do their best at Duke.
