The writer of the letter recently in regard to Israel leaves out an important fact. In 2006, Israel gave up the Gaza Strip and Jewish settlers were forced to leave. This was done with hopes of peace. It did not take long for Palestinian terrorists to quickly settle in Gaza and begin sending rockets into, guess what, civilian areas.
Does this sound like today? Unfortunately, this has been ongoing. These attacks from Palestinians terrorists who are now near enough to purposefully bomb Israel at their discretion continue to this day.
How long would it take you before responding to constant bombardment of your neighborhood and community, harming the innocent by targeting hospitals and schools? Israeli soldiers are the ones fighting back after holding back much longer than most of us would have done.
The purpose of the Hamas organization is to destroy the State of Israel and establish an Islamic state in Israel. It is funded by Iran, which is supplied with weapons from Russia and other countries. There's more: Iran is very close to having nuclear capabilities which will spread to other Muslim countries. Which one of them do you want to have nuclear weapons?
You claim Israel is a Jewish state. It is a democracy, like our own. Would you rather it be under radical Islamic rule? Doesn't it make you curious why this tiny country is so desired? It is surrounded by Islamic countries (Muslim states, by the way, with total intolerance of other religions) who have 500 times the land Israel does.
The goal of Iran is to wipe Israel off the map and we are next. Remember Ahmadinejad's promise?
