Editor, Times-Union:

The Times-Union has printed a number of editorials and letters on the fighting between the Palestinians and the Israelis whose writers vary in opinion on the problem's causes and how to solve it.

Here are some basic facts, simply put, that can be collaborated by numerous documents and books:

For religious reasons, the Jews of Israel have forced the Islamic Arabs of Palestine off their homeland and confined them in a refugee-concentration camp named "Gaza." Israel can do this because they are the most powerful military nation in the Middle East and have been fully financed by confused U.S. leaders responding to propaganda.

The miserably confined Palestinians are fighting back. (If we Hoosiers were confined in a concentration camp most of us would fight back against the occupying army in any manner possible.)

"Terrorist" is a label that if applied to the Palestinians certainly applies just as equally to the Israelis.

Israel, American Jewish organizations and some "Christian" groups and individuals, have implemented a massive propaganda effort in years past and continuing yet today to bamboozle the U.S. public and our leaders. Their plans is and has been to create a Jewish nation inhabited by Jews. By contrast the U.S. is a nation where all religions are acceptable. Therefore, U.S. tax dollars should not be given to Israel.

What our leaders should do is immediately and permanently discontinue any and all financial and military aid to Israel. We should also back away from trying to broker peace between the two sides and let them work out their own future.
