Chris Matthews, the host of MSNBC's show "Hardball" says his hero is Sir Winston Churchhill. He admires Churchill for seeing the dangers of totalitarian ideologies like Communism and Nazism.
Sadly, Matthews acts like Neville Chamberlain in that he is oblivious to another totalitarian ideology threatening us - Islam. Recently, Matthews and some of his guests have been campaigning for the Ground Zero Mosque. They evidently do not understand the history, tenets and texts of Islam.
Why was the World Trade Center attacked on Sept. 11? Because historically the Islamic Invasion of Europe was stopped at the gates of Vienna on Sept. 11, 1683. It is a signal to the jihadists that the holy war against the infidels is on again. Why is the Ground Zero Mosque project called the Cordoba Initiative? Cordoba was the capital of Moslem-dominated Spain.
Interesting enough, while the Obama administration backs the Ground Zero Mosque, the German government has shut down the Hamburg mosque where the 9/11 attack was planned (Mosques and Terror, Rowan Scarborough, 8/24/2010, Human Events.com/article.php?id=38678). The irony could not be more complete.
Chris Matthews always talks about how the Arab Street sees America. We already know. Moslems cheered and gave each other gifts on 9/11. Matthews also said Moslems may decide not to come here to study engineering because they feel Americans do not like or trust them. Good. We do not want them learning how to build better weapons. That is how the West beat back the Moslem invasion in the 17th century, with better ships and cannons. Ahmadinejad of Iran said weapons building is the only secular education Moslems should have, even as they seek nuclear technology and fuel from Russia and North Korea. I guess some infidels are OK. The Arab Street will see the Ground Zero Mosque as a victory and use it as a source of contention and provocation against America.
The "Hardball" guests usually say building the Mosque is about religious freedom. Many are liberals who scream "Theocracy!" at the sight of a Christmas tree or a nativity scene. If they are so concerned about religious freedom, why don't they demand that St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church be repaired after it was damaged when the twin towers came down? And why are these liberals who are so concerned about religious freedom defending a belief system that denies religious freedom to everyone else? Often Matthews features speakers from the Council on American Islamic Relations, an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror-funding case. But CAIR's founder, Omar Ahmad, said, "Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Arab Street despises religious freedom as weakness. Islam is not just a religion, but a totalitarian political ideology, like Nazism or Communism (www.csplpublishing.com).
Sir Winston Churchill, Chris Matthew's hero said of appeasement, "An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last."
