NAPPANEE - Irene Pippenger, 96, died at 4 p.m. Sept. 15, 2007, in Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa, where she resided.

She was born Nov. 27, 1910, in Nappanee, to Mervin and Mary Pepple Anglemyer. On June 20, 1934, in Union Township, she married Harold L. Pippenger, who died July 21, 2000.

A lifetime area resident, she graduated from Nappanee High School, was a homemaker and attended Union Center Church of the Brethren.

Surviving are a son, H. Lamar Pippenger, Nappanee; two daughters, Mrs. James (Mary) Rhoade, Goshen, and Mrs. David (Margaret) Lawrence, Newburgh; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Franklin Anglemyer, Wakarusa. She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Union Center Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Greg Lawrence officiating. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.

Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
