Irene Elizabeth Stoll Bess, 91, Warsaw, passed away at 2:50 p.m. May 30, 2016, at Warsaw Meadows Care Center. She was born May 13, 1925, in Harrisburg, Pa., to Mildred Elizabeth Rhoades and Theodore M. Parsons Jr. She married S. Herbert Bess, who passed away in 1997. She was a 1942 graduate of Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; attended Wheaton College; and was a 1972 graduate of Grace College, Winona Lake. She was a resident of Kosciusko County since 1967 where she was a homemaker and a member of Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church. She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters, E. Jane (and spouse Roger) Smoker, Warsaw; Carolyn (and spouse Gary) Shanklin, Winona Lake; two sons, Kenneth John (and spouse Dawn) Stoll, Sheridan, Mich., and Kevin Stoll, Warsaw; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Merle Parsons. A private graveside service will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Warsaw.
