ROCHESTER – Irene Annabelle Rouch Clary, 92, of Rochester, died Aug. 31, 2013, at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester.
She was born Aug. 7, 1921, in Wayne Township, to Loyd and Ruth Pownall Rouch. On Sept. 4, 1954, in Marion, she married Harvey Clary Jr., who died March 11, 2000.
She graduated from Grass Creek High School in 1939. She resided in Rochester since 1939, with the exception of her time wintering in Lehigh Acres, Fla. As an insurance professional, she served the Rouch Insurance Agency as an agent for 28 years. She was a director of the Mutual Insurance Companies Association of Indiana, and was the secretary-treasurer of the Rochester Farmers Mutual Insurance Company from 1976-1988. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for more than half a century, Tri-Kappa Sorority, Fulton County Republican Women and the Fulton County Historical Society.
She is survived by a daughter, Darla (and spouse Murro) Martens, Argyle, Texas; a son, Ron (and spouse Carlita) Clary, Garland, Texas; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Elnora Burton, Rochester; and sister-in-law, Pat Clary, Rochester. She was preceded in death by a sister.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Maurice Grindle officiating. Burial will be at the Fulton Cemetery.
Calling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to services.
