Ira "Carl" Seitner, 82, of Warsaw, died at 8:07 p.m. May 17, 2009, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

He was born Aug. 17, 1926, in Roann, to Walter J. and Ruby Reed Seitner. On Jan. 7, 2004, in Warsaw, he married Mary Johnson, who survives.

Living most of his life in Warsaw, he worked at Arnold Corp. for 17 years and was a sand lab tech at Dalton Foundries for 21 years, retiring Nov. 8, 1991. He was a member of Living Hope Ministries, Warsaw, and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

Also surviving are a son, Mike (and spouse Maria) Seiner, Warsaw, a daughter, Linda (and spouse Ronnie) Smith, Mentone; three sisters, Iris Nuell, Martha (and spouse Pete) Wuchter and Sandra Kimes, all of Warsaw; 11 grandchildren, Charlie, Matt, Christina, Melissa, Todd, Walter, Ronda, Mark, John, Thomas and Trevis; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter J. Seiner, who died March 18, 1959; his mother, Ruby A. Seiner, who died Jan. 22, 1994; and a son, David Seiner, April 14, 1990.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Living Hope Ministries, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Wayne Whitaker of the church. Burial will be in Palestine Cemetery with military graveside honors by members of Warsaw American Legion Post 49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw.
