IPRA Rodeo Coming To Fairgrounds

Posted

The rodeo is coming to the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds June 30 and July 1 at 7 p.m.

The region's top cowboys and cowgirls, members of the International Professional Rodeo Association, will present bareback bronc riding, bull riding, cowgirl barrel racing, calf roping, steer wrestling, team roping and saddle bronc riding.

Rodeo clown Kenny Schappacher will set up a donkey race with local folks.

The rodeo will be at the grandstand, according to Trish Marshall of the Kosciusko County Fair Board.

"They set up their own arena system," Marshall said. "They're professional cowboys earning points with the IPRA."

Local riders may register to compete June 26 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (CST). The IPRA booking number is 800-639-9002.

Fireworks over Winona Lake begin at dusk July 1 and the audience is welcome to stay for the show in the sky as well.

Advance tickets prices are $8 for individuals 13 years old and older, $3 for children ages 4 to 12 years old, free for children 3 years old and younger. Tickets are $10 and $5, respectively, at the gate. Advance tickets are available at the fairgrounds, 1400 E. Smith St., Warsaw, 574-269-1823, and at the Boys and Girls Club, 800 Park Ave., Warsaw, 574-268-1155.
