NORTH MANCHESTER – Iona D. Poston, 83, of North Manchester, died at 1:05 a.m. Jan. 10, 2013, in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester. She was born Oct. 5, 1929, in Laketon, to Charles R. Sr. and Adelia Moore Shaffer. On June 6, 1948, she married William H. Poston, who died Aug. 10, 2008. She was a homemaker and a sales representative for Old Fort Specialty, Fort Wayne. She was a member of Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester. She graduated from Laketon High School in 1947 and was a member of Laketon American Legion Post 402 Auxiliary. Surviving are two sons, Michael J. (and spouse Bonnie) Poston, Winston-Salem, N.C., and Kim A. (and spouse Rida) Poston, Cullman, Ala.; two daughters, Deborah Dee Young, Fort Wayne, and Diana Lee (and spouse Ken) Lybarger, North Manchester; a brother, Charles R. Shaffer Jr., Laketon; a sister, Marcia (and spouse Barnett) Wolfrum, LaFontaine; and seven grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 19 in Peabody Chapel, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman and the Rev. Sue Babovec officiating. A private burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester. Calling will follow the service Jan. 19 at Peabody Chapel.
