NAPPANEE – Iola M. Mayfield, 87, of 420 E. Center St., Bourbon, died at 3:42 a.m. Nov. 23, 2011, in her residence after a long illness.
She was born July 26, 1924, in Keego Harbor, Mich., to William and Louise Schultz West. On June 18, 1965, she married Ray Mayfield, who died March 1999.
She had been a telephone operator and attended Nappanee Missionary Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Phyllis Irene Atkinson, Bourbon, and Darlene Henry Berda, Morrisville, Vt; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Services will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at Thompson-Lengacher Funeral Home, Nappanee, with Pastor Norm Reimer officiating.
