ELKHART -ÊAn Elkhart County man was arrested Tuesday in part due to the efforts of the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force.
Leonard Cook, of 3408 Pleasant Plain, Elkhart, was arrested Tuesday and charged with dealing more than three grams of cocaine, a Class A felony. An infant with Cook at the time of his arrest was released to family members.
The drug task force conducted investigations and learned that a large amount of crack cocaine was coming from Elkhart and being distributed in Kosciusko County. Through the combined efforts of the Elkhart City Police Special Operations Group and the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force, an undercover purchase of crack cocaine reportedly was made from Cook.
The arrest was a combined effort between the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force, Warsaw City Police, Elkhart Police Department and the Elkhart County Prosecutor's office. The Kosciusko County Drug Task force is continuing to work with the Elkhart Police on illegal drugs being delivered to the Kosciusko County area, and further arrests are expected.
