I was reading the editorial on Saturday (March 2, 2019). When I got close to the end I read a paragraph that got my dander up.
It read “The government no longer passes laws that are good for the country, they pass laws that are good for business.” I agree with this.
I have read the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expect a different outcome, yet we keep electing the same people over and over and expect them to fix the problem! Some have been in office over 40 years. Some were not rich when they were elected but few are not rich when they leave.
Elected offices are supposed to be a service, not a career. As it stands, the inmates are in charge of the asylum. Term limits need to be assigned to each and every office. This is going to difficult to accomplish (who is going to vote to terminate their employment?).
I don't have an answer for this except put it on a general election and let the people vote on it.
