Inmate Faces Trafficking Charge

Posted

As an inmate was bonding out of the Kosciusko County Jail, he dropped a pack of cigarettes into the drunk tank and earned himself a return trip before he ever left.

Johnathon T. Rusher, 25, of 5985 Old Road 30E #7, Pierceton, was booked back into the jail on a charge of trafficking with an inmate. No bond was set.

Kosciusko County Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine said Rusher was given back his belongings and was leaving the jail when he allegedly dropped a pack of cigarettes and a lighter in the holding area known as the drunk tank.

Cigarettes are considered contraband in the jail, which is a smoke-free facility.
