SYRACUSE – Merrick Joseph David Garlinger, 2 days old, Syracuse, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Aug. 4, 2016, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He was born Aug. 2, 2016, in Goshen, to David L. and Samantha M. Johnson Garlinger, who survive in Syracuse. Also surviving are maternal grandparents: Missy and Larry Flannery, Milford; Benjie and Lena Johnson, Richwood, W. Va.; paternal grandparents: Donna Arnold, Syracuse; Phil Garlinger, Hartford City; maternal great-grandparents: Ray and Barbara Johnson, Richwood, W. Va.; Jim and Pearl Flanagan, Hackers Valley, W. Va.; paternal great-grandparents: David and Lois Arnold, Vermillion, Ohio; Nancy and Wayne Beck, Painesville, Ohio; Sharon Garlinger, Hartford City; four aunts: Bethany, Katy, Kaili and Shelby; and five uncles: Chance, Jeremiah, Jarron, Christopher and Andrew. Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, with Pastor Brad Cox, Wawasee Lakeside Chapel, officiating.
