Industrial Accident Reported At Safe-WayA man was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital Monday morning after an industrial accident.
According to Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory Chief Mike Wilson, a man at Safe-Way Garage Doors, 3814 U.S. 30, got his arm caught in a roller system on one of Safe-Way’s machines. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene at 8:52 a.m.
“We were on scene for over an hour,” he said, and were assisted by Winona Lake, Leesburg and North Webster fire departments for manpower and equipment. The city of Warsaw mechanic also was called in to help with his tools.
The injured man was airlifted by Lutheran Air to Fort Wayne.
Wilson said the man was alert and stable when he left the ground.
