INDOT - SECTION 5310 SPECIALIZED CAPITAL ASSITANCE

NOTICE The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), Office of Transit is now offering applications for Section 5310 Specialized Capital Assistance. ELIGIBILITY: The Section 5310 Program serves areas where accessible public transit for the elderly and persons with disabilities is unavailable, in adequate or inappropriate. The program provides vehicles and related equipment to private non-profit organizations and eligible public bodies involved in transporting elderly and disabled customers. TIME FRAME: Application packages are available through February 13, 2009. Completed applications are due on March 6, 2009. Anticipated vehicle delivery by May 2010. No other formats are available. FUNDING: The federal government will fund eighty percent (80%) of the project cots. The grantee will provide the remaining twenty percent (20%). Indiana will distribute about $2.6 million. Typically, INDOT funds about 45 applicants per funding cycle. j20
