Wednesday will be Indiana University basketball day at Warsaw Community High School.
Current basketball players A.J. Guyton and Michael Lewis will conduct a basketball clinic for students from 1:30-5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Following the clinic, Indiana University men's basketball recruits will play an exhibition game at 7 p.m.
Team Indiana will meet Tiffany's, an AAU team based in Topeka. The game takes place at Warsaw Community High School.
Team Indiana features recruits Jeff Newton (6-foot-9, Atlanta, Ga.), George Leach (6'10", Charlotte, N.C.), Tom Coverdale (6'3', Noblesville, Ind.) and Mike Roberts (6'7', Eugene, Ore.). Roberts will attend prep school next season and play for the Hoosiers in 2000-2001.
Rounding out Indiana's team are Jeremy McGlouthin (6-3, Bloomington) and Warsaw basketball players Ross Kesler, Zach Nelson and Greg Seiss. McGlouthin will attend Indiana State.
Chris Rhodes (Warsaw), Steve Sibenmorgen (Warsaw), Chris Wiggins (Warsaw), Aaron Thomas (Northridge), Brad Gulick (DeKalb), Jason Elkins (Columbia City) and Ronald Dokes (South Bend Riley) will play for Tiffany's. Also playing for Tiffany's is Warsaw teacher David Wayne.
Admission is $4 for everyone. Players will sign autographs after the game.
The clinic, conducted by Guyton and Lewis, is for boys and girls entering the third through 12th grades in the fall. Preregistration is $40. Registration the day of the school is $45. Cost includes the clinic, camp picture, dinner with staff and admission to the exhibition game.
Payments may be dropped off at the athletic office. Checks should be made payable to Tim Knight Enterprises Inc.
In addition to Guyton and Lewis, codirector Eric Bowlen, Knight, Coverdale, Leach, Newton and Roberts will help conduct the clinic.
