NOTICE The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), Office of Transit is now offering applications for the Section 5311(f) Intercity Transportation Assistance Program. ELIGIBILITY: The Section (5311(f) program defines intercity bus service as regularly scheduled bus service for the general public which operates with limited stops over fixed routes connecting two or more urban areas, not in close proximity and has the capacity of transporting baggage carried by passengers. FUNDING: Each year the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) allocates a portion (15%) of the total Section 5311 rural transit funds specifically for intercity projects. TIME FRAM: Applications must be submitted no later than June 1, 2009.
