The Indiana Army National Guard is having a community food drive to support local food pantries, starting today.
Nearly everyone has seen or heard of Guard units responding to battle fires or helping communities deal with floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, snowstorms or other emergency situations. The Indiana Army National Guard wants to continue to support its communities by starting its very first food drive.
A box for canned and nonperishable food items will be outside the Warsaw National Guard Armory at 315 CR 350N, Warsaw, for people to drop off their donations, according to local recruiter Staff Sgt. Michael Cole.
The food drive will go until Dec. 18 and then the Guard will deliver the food to local banks.
For more information, contact Cole or Staff Sgt. Randy Jackson at 574-361-6403 or 574-526-0537, respectively.
