WINONA LAKE - Artists from northern Indiana will converge on The Village at Winona this weekend to participate in the inaugural Winona Lake Plein Air Paint-Out.
The artists will take up their box easels and seek out an aspiring view of the area and create their own works "en plen air", a French expression meaning "in the open air."
Finished paintings will be on display at 3:30 p.m. Sunday with judging by local award-winning artist Terry Armstrong. Prizes will be awarded, including a People's Choice Award.
Spectators are welcome to view the painters as they work throughout the weekend. Artwork will be offered for sale.
Registration for artists begins at 7 a.m. Saturday and continues through Sunday at noon. For more information, contact Blue Heron Artworks at 574-269-2997 or visit www.blueheronartworks.net/paintout
