I was in Indianapolis this past week on some Legislative business and was surprised to see thousands of blue jackets with the FFA logo throughout the city.

I had the pleasure of sitting next to some FFA members from Georgia and struck up a conversation with them.

I couldn't help but notice how respectful, friendly and articulate they were.

I was corrected when I mentioned that I had read in the Indianapolis Star that they had a membership of 450,000. It is actually 500,000.

The FFA kids represent what is so wonderful about this country. They are hard working, focused, and understand the future role American agriculture will play in feeding the world.

What a great group of kids. Every parent should encourage their children to participate.

You hand your child over to the FFA and they will hand back to you a leader. Congratulations to Wawasee High School's FFA horticulture judging team which placed first in the FFA Division at the National Horticulture Judging Contest.
